About Hoplite Library
Original first.
Nothing in the way.
Hoplite Library keeps you in the original. Translation, dictionary, and grammar appear only when you ask for them, so you can follow the sentence without losing the thought.
Why Hoplite?
Hoplites (from Greek ) were citizens first and soldiers when needed. They were responsible for defending their city states and for staying sharp alongside the demands of ordinary life. Modern times have different constraints, but fighting against everyday demands is still a force to reckon with. Hoplite Library is for readers whose lives leave them little uninterrupted time to read the originals. Whether you are rusty, the text feels difficult, or something else keeps you from immersing yourself in reading, choose a shelf and follow your curiosity. A few focused minutes can still become real progress.
